Blessed Carlo Acutis Parish Baptism Guidelines

For Catholics, the Sacrament of Baptism is the first step in a lifelong journey of commitment and discipleship. Whether we are baptized as infants or adults, Baptism is the Church's way of celebrating and enacting the embrace of God.

  1. Parents are primary religious educators of children. In order to have your child baptized the priest or deacon needs to be confident that your child is going to be brought up in the ways of the faith. For this reason, it is our policy that at least one parent must be an active, practicing Catholic.
  2. If you are not a parishioner of Blessed Carlo Acutis, it is necessary that the priest or deacon of the parish to which you belong write us a letter stating that you are active parishioners and that we have permission to baptize your child in our parish.
  3. Godparents must submit a letter from their parish or church indicating that they are in good standing with the Church and are approved to be godparents. Fill out form.
  4. A copy of the birth certificate of the child must be sent back with the registration.
  5. A non-refundable registration fee must be paid at the time the application is submitted. The registration fee is $100. An additional Baptismal donation is encouraged and may be given on the day of the Baptism.
  6. Parents and godparents are required to take a Baptism Preparation Class which will be either in-person or virtual.
  7. If you have any questions regarding the application or guidelines for Baptism, please contact Sister Diane Collins at 773-486-4300 or email [email protected]. or [email protected]
